About Us

Thiruthuvapuram and Mulagumoodu Vicariates are the two integral parts of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kottar in Kanyakumari District. The long standing aspirations of the people of this region and their combined efforts have fructified into the assets of St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Nursing at Chunkankadai. The Basic B.Sc (Nursing) Degree programme was established in the academic Year 2006-2007 , Post Basic B.Sc ( Nursing ) Degree programme in the academic Year 2009-2010 and M.Sc. (Nursing) Degree programme was established in the academic year 2011 – 2012.

A challenging profession, nursing is dedicated to serve the humanity. The college educates and motivates skillful nurses with a healing touch. The ability to understand and soothe are as important to a nurse’s career as expertise in medical techniques and care. The teaching methods reflect this with interactivity and a stress on communicating with peers and faculty through discussions, symposium, seminars, panel discussions and debates. The sessions are made lively using multimedia projectors to explain theory.

The College of Nursing has a dedicated and proficient faculty led by a renowned and an experienced Principal. The undergraduate and postgraduate students have separate faculty to grab individual attentions. The post graduate faculty members include experts in all the specializations. This motivated team continually keeps themselves abreast with conferences and journals.
