About Us

This Institution, SCHOOL OF MEDICAL EDUCATION, REGIONAL CENTRE OF MAHATMA GANDHI UNIVERSITY KOTTAYAM, initially started functioning at TD Road Ernakulam on 25th February 2004 and continued to be there till Jan 2013. The students of 2009 batch onwards were admitted at Manimalakkunnu, own campus of the University.As a permanent solution of having own campus and building, Mahatma Gandhi University obtained 3 acres of land at Manimalakkunnu free of cost, on 7th September 2009,from the Rural Education Society headed by Late Sri. T.M. Jacob, former Minister & Sri. M.J. Jacob, former MLA. Then the Nursing department start functioning on own campus on 1 February 2013. At the same time MLT department start functioning on the campus of TM Jacob Memorial College near to the Nursing campus. Periodically the new site for MLT department found out and the construction of building started on 2014 Construction of the building was completed and the MLT department started functioning in the own property on 1 May 2018 The institution is managed by Centre for Professional &Advanced Studies, established by GOVERNMENT OF KERALA and is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Science with effect from July 2017.
