The MUTHIAH POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE was established by the Annamalai University in the year 1958, has been named after the Founder Dr. Rajah Sir M.A. MUTHIAH CHETTIAR, Kt., B.A., D.Litt., the institution is devoted to realizing the high ideals of educating the under privileged. At a time when technical institutions were very few and sparse, the Muthiah Polytechnic College came as a boon to the people of the backward district of Cuddalore. It is also an inevitable addition to the educational complex of the Annamalai University. The Administration of the Polytechnic College is managed by a Governing Council Consisting of Dignitaries representing different interests. The Vice-Chancellor of the Annamalai University is the Chairman of the Governing Council and Correspondent of the Polytechnic College, the Principal is the member Secretary of the Governing Council.
