Government College Mokeri

About Us

Government College, Mokeri is ensconced in a picturesque campus of five acres over 50 km to the north of Kozhikode District of Kerala State. Established in 1981 the college serves the higher education needs of the rural populace in the hilly part of the Vatakara Taluk. The college offers four undergraduate programmes, two Postgraduate programmes with a total student strength of 504, and a Research Centre. The main objective of the college is to impart quality education to socially, economically and educationally backward people in the hilly areas of the district. Our motto is ‘SOCIAL JUSTICE THROUGH EDUCATION’. The college is funded by the Government of Kerala. The College represents the fulfilment of a long cherished dream of the people in and around the locality. This is the only center for higher studies owned and managed by the Government of Kerala to fulfill the aspirations of thousands of students passing out from around the 15 feeder higher secondary schools. The severe paucity of infrastructure facilities like good library, computer lab, staff quarters, hostels etc. has adversely affected the development of the college where in vast majority of the students come from poor and underprivileged sections.
