Government Arts and Science College for Women Malappuram

About Us

Government Arts and Science College for Women Malappuram was established as per G.O (MS) No. 13/15/H.Edn. Thiruvananthapuram dated 14/01/2015 and started functioning w.e.f. 17/07/2015. The College owes its origin to Mr. P. Ubidulla Moideen, MLA of Malappuram who demanded a Women’s College to cater the higher education needs of girls at Malappuram district. The College begins functioning in the temporary premises of Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Downhill, Malappuram during the acadmic year 2015-16. The official inauguration of the College was done on 04/30/2016 by Sri. Ommen Chandy, then Chief Minister of Kerala in the presence of Mr. P.K Kunhalikkutty, Minister for IT and Industries, Mr. P.K Abdurabb, Minister for Education, Mr. A.P Anil Kumar, Minister for S.C and Tourism, Mr. P. Ubidulla Moideen, MLA of Malappuram and other legislators and dignitaries along with a jubilant audience comprising parents, students, media men and local public. On 07/09/2017 the college was shifted to rented premises at Munduparamba, Malappuram.
