About Us

AKUI KAMALABALA WOMEN’S COLLEGE, Affiliated to Bankura University  is one of the seven colleges which were proposed to be set up as new general degree college and enlisted in the letter No. 166(7)-Edn(CS)/4C-16/05 (Pt.) dated, Kolkata 7.3.2012 by the Assistant Secretary, Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal. Under the careful inspection of Mr. Gurupada Mete, respected MLA, Indas, Bankura and others the grand venture of establishing the second women’s college in Bankura District was materialized in August 2016. The land of the college was gifted by Smt. Kamalabala and her family of Akui, Bankura and as a mark of gratitude the institution has been named after Kamalabala. In spite of all odds, the college has committed to the noble cause of academically and culturally enlightening women, the gender marginalized segment of the society.
