"A.K.G Memorial Co-operative College of Nursing”, a unit of Kannur Co-operative Hospital Society Ltd.No.C-834,was envisioned and established in August 2008 as a memorial of Sri.A.K.Gopalan (AKG). Sri. A.K Gopalan was a renowned politician, a fabulous orator and a great Parliamentarian in the Indian history and a person who toiled his life throughout for the upliftment of poor and downtrodden. AKGMCCON is one of the leading icon among the reputed nursing colleges all over India. AKGMCCON is functioning in its new building from 2010 December onwards, at Mavilayi- the native place of Sri. AKG, more over a salubrious hilly area 10km west of Kannur town, away from the buzz and pollution of Kannur City.
