BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) is a four and half year undergraduate course in physiotherapy and is the foundation level course for a career in Physiotherapy and a mandatory course for higher studies. The course deals with the fundamentals of rehabilitative medicine. BPT is designed to impart physiotherapeutic skills to the students such as therapeutic exercises which are aimed at improving the physical condition of a patient. Physiotherapy is used to treat a range of diseases or problems associated with the spine, neck, shoulder, and legs. In this course, students gain knowledge of how bones and joints work together with the muscular system for body movements. Students learn the techniques to improve movement dysfunction, overall health and promote functions of the body. In-depth training also enables them to diagnose disease and disability. Eligibility Criteria

10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognised board. The candidates must not be older than 25 years of age which is the limit for most of the colleges.

Admission Procedure

Admission to the BPT programme will be done on merit basis. The colleges and universities will conduct entrance exams for the admissions. The candidates must appear for and pass the entrance exam in order to secure a place in the merit list, which will be the basis for admissions. Some colleges offer seats to eligible candidates on the basis of marks scored in class XII.
