BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) is a graduate degree program in homoeopathic medicine. Homoeopathy is considered to be a pseudoscientific system of alternative medicine. The course comprises four and a half year of classroom study and a one-year internship at the medical institutions or homoeopathic hospitals. With a global shift in treatment preferences, homoeopathy and other alternative systems of medicine are getting highly popular and more and more students are opting to study them. BHMS course is taught at many colleges and universities in India and is the second most sought after course by students after MBBS. The candidates can start practising after the internship is over, and once the registration process with the national government office is done. The graduates can opt for further studies, practice, research, teaching and also explore the career options abroad.

Eligibility Criteria

To seek admissions into BHMS programme, the candidates must have passed their 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. The candidate must also qualify NEET UG exam and must not be less than 17 years of age during the year of admission.

Admission Procedure

The candidate must qualify the entrance exam to become eligible for further admission process. Once the candidates have passed the entrance exam and have obtained a valid rank for admissions, they will be issued rank cards. The next step is counselling which is mostly online and includes the choice submission by the candidate. The preliminary fees for counselling can be submitted online. Seats will be allotted to the candidates based on their choice, NEET rank, reservation criteria etc.
