A Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is an undergraduate degree that is mandatory to become a dentist in India. The duration of the programme is four years and a one-year internship. BDS is one of the most reputed and highly sought after courses in India. A BDS equips one with the knowledge of dental problems, procedures and surgery. The curriculum of the course covers areas such as prevention, diagnosis and treatment of dental diseases. Dentistry not only deals with oral health but also deals with problems related to the jaw and facial area. Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised board with at least 50% mark in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The candidate must also qualify the NEET. The candidate must be 17 years of age and not exceeding the age of 25 years during the time of admission.

Admission Procedure

The admissions into BDS programmes are based on the marks obtained in the entrance exam NEET. The selected students will be called for the counselling session. During counselling, based on the marks scored in the NEET, the candidates will be allotted BDS seat as per the merit of the candidate.
