About us
The Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) was established in 1955 as a private medical school by the Mysore Education Society, founded by Dr. R. Shivaram, Dr. Mekhri, Dr. B.K. Narayana Rao, and Dr. B.V. Ramaswamy. It became a government institution in 1957 and initially affiliated with Mysore University, then Bangalore University, and currently with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (since 1996).
